Advisory services, from the first question to a working system

We offer six advisory services. Most clients need one or two at a time, and the right starting point depends on whether you are still deciding what to do, choosing how to do it, or already in the middle of a rollout.

We offer six services, each with written deliverables and a defined finish line. The quickest way to choose is to ask where you are in the decision: still working out priorities, choosing a specific system, putting AI or reporting to work, tidying up who controls your digital assets, or partway through an implementation. Each section below tells you who the service suits and links to its full page.

  • Digital strategy and roadmap

A sequenced, costed 12- to 24-month plan that says which digital projects to do, in what order, and which to drop.

  • Software and vendor selection

A requirements document, a vendor shortlist and a weighted scoring matrix for CRM, ERP, field-service or accounting software.

  • AI adoption and automation

Find the few tasks where AI or automation pays back, test them safely, and put rules around their use.

  • Data and reporting

Agreed KPI definitions and an owner's dashboard you can trust, built on data your systems already hold.

  • Website and digital-marketing governance

Clear ownership of domains, accounts, data and vendors, so your digital assets stay yours and stay under control.

  • Implementation oversight

An owner-side advisor during rollout who holds the vendor to the plan, the budget and the acceptance criteria.

Digital strategy and roadmap

Choose this when you have more ideas than budget. A digital roadmap turns a list of possible projects, such as a new CRM, an online booking portal, an inventory app and a reporting overhaul, into a sequence with costs, dependencies and owners.

It suits businesses that keep starting technology projects and finishing few of them. The deliverable is a 12- to 24-month plan, quarter by quarter, with a short stop list of projects to drop. The prioritising guide shows the scoring method we use.

Software and vendor selection

Choose this when a specific purchase is coming. Our software selection service covers CRM, ERP, field-service management, accounting, inventory and similar platforms, and ends with a vendor shortlist, a weighted scoring matrix and a three-year cost model for each finalist.

It suits owners facing a renewal, a system that no longer fits, or a sales pitch they cannot evaluate alone. You buy directly from the vendor you select. For the cost side, the CRM three-year cost guide works through a full example.

AI adoption and automation

Choose this when you suspect AI or automation could save time but cannot tell which ideas are real. The AI adoption service identifies a small number of high-volume, rules-based tasks, tests them on your own data, and writes the guidelines staff need before using AI tools with client information.

It suits teams that are already using AI tools informally and want structure, and owners who want to see payback figures before committing.

Data and reporting

Choose this when your numbers do not agree with each other. The data and reporting service writes a definition for each KPI, identifies the system of record for it, and specifies an owner's dashboard that reconciles with your accounting.

It suits businesses with three versions of "monthly revenue" and leadership meetings that argue about the numbers instead of acting on them.

Website and digital-marketing governance

Choose this when you are not sure who controls your domain, analytics, ad accounts or customer data. The governance service produces an ownership and access register, a vendor accountability framework and simple policies for adding or removing access.

It is not agency selection or marketing management. We look at control and accountability: making sure the business, not a former employee or contractor, owns the assets it has paid for.

Implementation oversight

Choose this when a rollout is underway, or about to begin, and you want someone on your side of the table. Implementation oversight means checkpoints, acceptance criteria, data migration checks and a weekly status view that tells the owner the truth.

It suits owners who have signed a contract and now need the vendor to deliver what was sold.

How the services connect

The services are designed to hand over to each other. A typical path looks like this:

Stage Service Typical engagement type
Deciding what matters Digital roadmap Project
Choosing a system Software selection Project
Testing AI ideas AI adoption Project or hourly
Agreeing the numbers Data and reporting Project
Controlling assets Digital governance Project, then hourly reviews
Delivering the system Implementation oversight Retainer

Pricing for each engagement type is on the pricing page. If you are unsure where to begin, send a short text to (604) 632-4959 describing the decision; we will suggest the smallest useful first step. Our contact page lists the details that help us respond well.

Frequently asked questions

Do we have to buy all six services?

No. Each service stands on its own and has its own deliverables. Many clients start with a single selection project or a few hours of advice and add more only if it proves useful.

Which service should come first?

If you have several competing ideas, start with the roadmap. If one decision is already urgent, such as a CRM renewal, start with software selection. If a project is underway and drifting, start with implementation oversight.

Do you configure or build the software yourselves?

No. The vendor or its certified partner configures the product. We act for you: we define what it must do, check what is delivered against that definition, and keep the timeline and budget honest.

Can services be combined into a retainer?

Yes. A monthly retainer suits clients who want ongoing advisory support across several areas, for example a roadmap followed by two selections and oversight of both rollouts.
